Alla and John’s couples session at Bell Rock is one I will dream of literally forever. It was one of those shoots that was just TOO good. To give you an idea, a typical couples session lasts for about an hour to an hour and a half. We ended up running around Bell Rock together for TWO AND A HALF HOURS until we ran out of light. Literally.
After looking for a couple to shoot with on my trip to Sedona, Alla and I met on Instagram and immediately started planning with just a couple weeks notice. The day of the shoot comes around and it could not have been more perfect. Clear skies, a cool breeze, and the most gorgeous sunset overlooking Sedona to end the evening.
The hike up to Bell Rock is super easy and took us probably about 10 minutes despite people online saying it takes 30-40 minutes. Since I was planning this shoot from home, over 1,000 miles away, I definitely overestimated the time we would need to hike up. We started shooting around 4pm when the sun was still bright overhead. I kept telling Alla and John “Just wait, the light is gonna get so good.” AND IT DID. As the sun got lower in the sky, the light just got better and better for photos. We used up every last ounce of light that we could and ended up hiking back down in the dark.
As we reached the parking lot, it was so bitter sweet saying goodbye. Alla and John were two of the sweetest people and we had the best time in the short time we had together.
